In short, the Albion 12 Foundation brings the concept of the 12th player to Albion SC. The 12th player tradition, in modern sports, has taken on significant ramifications, ranging from “outside play calling” in collegiate and professional sports, to active and passive support of athletic institutions to meet the respective needs of individual players.

The concept allows direct involvement by existing members, alumni, and outside organizations to confer a benefit upon athletes and causes worthy of attention. In the realm of youth sports, this concept has maximum impact, and in fact provides an opportunity to influence and change the lives of players, not just in athletics, but in their daily, off-the-field lives. By impacting our children’s lives in this manner, we are not only addressing a present need, but in many cases, helping to build a future. This impact may be subtle at first, but can provide an impetus for continued and future athletic and academic momentum.

The Albion 12 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated solely to the funding of Youth Soccer Scholarships, Life Programming, and Facility Development/Operations for Albion SC. Our primary mission is to recognize and support those youth athletes who demonstrate outstanding scholastic and leadership potential, or who demonstrate a compelling financial need to continue participation in Albion SC’s youth soccer program. Operationally, the Foundation will support additional training for athletes in the form of leadership seminars, athletic assessments, and counseling, all which will give a competitive edge both on and off the field. To this end, Albion SC and the Albion 12 Foundation, seek to expand the role of youth soccer to something much greater than simply on the field athletic training.

Albion SC has a major initiative to help impact the world of soccer. For the last 15 years Albion SC has been providing communities around the world with soccer equipment including uniforms, balls, shoes, and more. This is a recent push to support a community in Africa that was without uniforms and soccer equipment. Through the Albion 12 Foundation we help serve not only the Albion SC community but communities all around the world.
